PROJECT 3 - Positioning
After we completed project 2, we can proceed to the next step which is to design the graphic elements, decide what color and typefaces to use for stationery, merchandise and social media side. I roughly have some idea of what colors and and graphic elements to use as I have mostly did it in project 2. Below is the mood board, I would like to go with a modern and bold look and feel by using black and white color and minimal use of orange color as it is the prominent color for the brand and the logo is designed with orange color as well.

First attempt :
The first attempt is not really looking good as I am trying to play around with the layout. After consultation, a lot of feedback have been given and changes were made.

Second attempt :
Changes were made and the overall looking good. However, there are still adjustment need to be done before the submission as some of the words are not readable and colors look different from the other collaterals. Therefore, among the designs I'll need to finalize one option to submit.

FEEDBACK

Week 6 : General feedback : 1. come out with logo rationale 2. do logo construction grid to measure the logo Specific feedback : 1. Look for colours 2. The last attempt typeface looks historical, use San Serif typeface will be better 3. explore pattern. because having only a logo are not strong enough to represent a brand. Week 6 : General feedback : 1. Start to work on sketches of business card, price tag, shopping bag, envelope and so on. Specific feedback : 1. try to be more selective on visual references. You have to make sure the references are helping you to develop your visual design 2. In the mood board, try to further elaborate keywords when selecting images for mood board 3. For the graphic elements, the one at the corner looks imbalance and does not contain the meaning of the brand. Then, the other two looks more interesting to work with and can tell that there are the double "R" on the graphic elements

Week 8 :
Independent Learning Week.

Week 9 :
General feedback :
1. Our design should not be rely on how the mockup looks like, we can fine more variation design for our collaterals. 
2. For all the information, please try your best to write something by your own instead of using "Lorem Ipsum" text.

Specific feedback :
1. The business card has no problem with the layout, but the make the point size smaller.
2. The tote bag look incomplete. Perhaps, you might need to rethink about the design and layout
3. The second option of invitation card is good to go with.
4. The envelope mockup try to remove the layer effect or change to another mockup.
5. Stationery set is good.
6. Choose one option only for environment
7. Instagram story ads 1, there are too many kind of typeface. Use one 1/2 typeface. The, the can be other information for the story ads instead of just having all "summer off". The word "summer off " at the corner of the ads are not readable.
8. Instagram profile story highlights, don't leave it blank for the picture, put something into it.


Week 10 :
General feedback :
1. fill up the brand information so that everyone can work on the next assignment.

Specific feedback :
1.  The collaterals are looking good.
2. Choose one only for each collaterals.


REFLECTION
Among all the collaterals, I struggle the most is the stationery part. I wanted to come out with a stationery set that have the complete information but also looking nice and creative. Therefore, I also thinking to add the pattern that I've created into stationery since it is part of the brand but, it does not look what I expected. At the end, the pattern only applied on the shopping bag. I think there are a lot to improve for designing the pattern for the brand. If I have a nice and attractive pattern, I think my stationery and collaterals would be looking better. Overall, this is my first time to create collaterals for a brand, I am glad that I have learned a lot and I hope all those technique I have learned can be helpful in my future.
